Bach: Orchestral Suite #3 in D, BWV 1068 – Overture
Comment: There’s a lot of Bach out there and while there’s a ton to listen to, not everything makes you stop what you are doing . But as it is with Bach, there are many, many gems. This first movement, the Overture from Bach’s Orchestral Suite #3 is one of these pieces of work (though many also like the second movement, the “Air on the G String”). Note the YouTube video is a very fast rendition (in fact the fastest I’ve ever heard), and I didn’t put a suggested recording because there are too many tempo variations with this work. So this is one of those times that I’d head to Amazon and listen to a sample of a well-received recording that has the tempo you like, and get that recording.
