The current book version is Edition 2, version 2.1.
Updates
Update #1: The new version of EAC no longer has the “MP3″ as a button option and instead has a “CMP” button. The CMP button stands for “compressed” and you can use this button instead of the MP3 button to produce your MP3′s.
Update #2: I am no longer recommending dragging and dropping your ripped CD files from your /classical_drop folder directly into iTunes (page 38, item #4).
The preferred workflow for going FROM your /classical_drop folder TO your iTunes libray is:
1. Let’s assume you have just ripped your Mozart’s 41st syphony CD and you now have a folder, /classical_drop/mozart_41
2. Now move (or copy if you want to keep /classical_he as an archive folder) the mozart_41 from the /classical_drop/mozart_41 TO the [iTunes music folder]/classical_HE/mozart.
Naturally this step assumes that you already have created a Mozart folder in your [iTunes music folder]/classical_HE/ directory. If you have not done that yet or want to review the procedure, please see page 16, Part B “Organizing Classical Music within your iTunes Music Folder” .
3. In summary you are going to be moving /classical_drop/mozart_41 to [iTunes music folder]/classical_HE/mozart/mozart_41
Update #3:Refreshing iTunes
There is a chance, when refreshing the iTunes library as described in Part IV (page 38, step 4) that you may encounter duplicate entries which you will need to remove (if you want). Antother method of refreshing your iTunes libray is described below (again remembering that iTunes has no “built-in” refresh feature):
Before you do this make sure you know the location of your iTunes library BEFORE you do this (if you are having a problem figuring out the location contact me for support and I will help you).
1. Select all of the music in your iTunes library (you can use CONTROL+A to select everything in your library assuming no filters have been applied)
2. Press the delete key.
3. You will be given a choice of whether or not you want to “keep the files ” or “move the files to the recycle bin”. Make sure you select “KEEP THE FILES”. DO NOT move the files to the recycle bin (though if you did press that by accident you can simply restore the files from the recycle bin).
4. This step will clear your iTunes library. Now go back and re-import the library by heading to FILE-> “Add Folder To Library” and select your main iTunes folder. Your library will be reimported, and iTunes will now “know” about your newly added folders.
